With nearly 270 degrees of views, we knew the site had to lead the design of this home. Where should each level sit to capture the best views? Where does the garage make sense based on access? How can we use the slope instead of fighting it? Those questions shaped this home from the beginning. To capture the incredible views, we positioned the main and upper levels where daylight, views, and outdoor access matter most. The areas buried into the hillside became the theater and golf simulator, two spaces that are pretty happy being dark anyway.

The modern style grew naturally from that approach. Clean forms allowed us to organize the home into distinct sections and orient each one toward a different part of the landscape, from Marcella and Deer Valley to the Jordanelle Reservoir and the mountains beyond. Every main living space above ground has a walkout, which also means no window wells interrupting those views. Going modern gave us the flexibility to let the architecture respond to the land rather than forcing a more traditional layout onto it.

We thought just as much about the views from the outside in. There really isn’t a “backside” of this house. Every elevation was designed to feel intentional because, on a lot this exposed, every side is going to be seen. Even the garage became part of that experience. As you approach the home, a large window creates a display for a favorite sports car, giving the house a subtle Ferris Bueller’s Day Off moment and a little personality before you even walk inside.

Some of our favorite features are the ones that make moving through the home more interesting. The three-sided fireplace creates a focal point without closing off the surrounding spaces, while the staircase was designed to feel more like a sculptural element than something purely functional. At the entry, you pass beneath a bridge connecting the spaces above, immediately giving you a sense of the scale and openness of the home.

That indoor-outdoor connection really comes together in the primary suite and spa. Oversized sliding doors open the primary bedroom to its balcony, allowing the two to feel almost like one space. The spa and gym have incredible views of their own and flow directly outside to the hot tub, where an infinity edge carries your eye into the landscape. These are the moments where the architecture almost gets out of the way and lets Park City do its thing.

Ultimately, this home came from paying attention to what the property was already giving us. The slope helped determine where spaces belonged, the exposure pushed us to make every elevation matter, and those 270 degrees of views became the thread connecting everything. The goal was never to compete with the site. It was to design a home that lets you experience as much of it as possible.
